It was a cloudy morning in Nowra with a storm threatening to unleash its fury all day. The day itself ran smoothly to begin with, but the strong currents and an unfortunate capsize saw that the day grew longer. However, such things don’t phase our paddlers. All our teams performed to the best of their abilities, bringing home the following results:

CYL Mixed Yellow: 3rd and 2nd in the two heats

CYL Mixed Black: 6th Place in the Finals

CYL Womens: 5th Place in the Finals (with 17 paddlers!)

CYL Opens: 1st Place!

Congratulations again to all our teams! The womens crew did especially well even though they were missing 3 paddlers! Our Opens team made this event a clean sweep placing first in all heats and the finals. This is the third year in a row that our opens crew has won at Nowra, the team are very happy and hope to build on this momentum coming up to the Chinese New Year races
